FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
To help you, we have answered many of the questions we get asked often.
Many questions are around timing. For sample glam schedules and questions about the “getting ready” timeline, view them HERE.
BEFORE BOOKING
-
We require a 50% deposit to secure the date of your wedding and to book in advance. We can still add more services once the deposit is paid, however, we won’t be able to remove any services once the contract has been signed.
-
We require a minimum of 5 services per category, both hair and makeup (unless we have a dual artist available then we can accommodate for 5 services total). Minimums apply for Saturdays weddings, Fridays during peak season (April, May, and October), and weddings further than 45 miles from our studio.
-
Brite will bill the bride through a link - half is due in order to book. Bridesmaids can pay the bride directly. Tip: Some brides will have their maid of honor or mother collect the money.
-
Yes, travel is determined according to to the zip code in which the artists are traveling from Brite studio to location. Inquire for your quote.
-
You may schedule a consultation conference for a $25 fee. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions about the process and get advice on your look! The fee is applied to your wedding day deposit at the time of booking. Schedule.
-
A good general rule is to have the bridal party ready 2.5 hours before ceremony time. This gives time for photos, dressing, more photos, and you'll want to be tucked away about 30 minutes before because guests begin arriving.
We explain, in depth what to expect for timing - click here to learn more.
WEDDINGS
-
Absolutely! In fact, we recommend that all brides have a blowout done the day before their wedding. We can accommodate that on location and style your hair for the way you want for rehearsal. We also do make up and hair for any friends and family who would like to get ready together that day.
-
We book all services to finish 2 1/2 hours before ceremony start time; however, your Planner or Photographer may want you ready earlier than that.
-
Each service takes 45 minutes and for bridal services we a allot 1 hour.
-
Regarding how to get your best skin, please consult with an aesthetician months before the wedding to begin your skincare journey.
Please have day old hair or clean dry hair. If booked for a Blowout, please have clean damp hair.
Clean and moisturized skin is best before makeup application.
Exfoliate your lips, especially if you plan on wearing a matte lip!
Please do not do any facial waxing within 72 hours of your appointment.
Exfoliate your face, but not within 48 hours of your appointment - you risk having red or irritated skin.
We would advise that you DO NOT try any new skincare treatments the week before your wedding/event to avoid any type of reactions.
-
We build in a brief touch up time at the end of our glam schedule before the artists leave. For each hour that an individual artist remains, you may retain each artist to stay per hourly rate. We recommend hiring an artist to stay with the bride and party until the ceremony to ensure that everyone is fresh and touch-uped before walking down the aisle.
-
The lead artists leave behind a small lip touch up along with a few bobby pins. We recommend having you and your crew have your favorite lipsticks on hand for touch ups throughout the night.
-
If you would like to change your hairstyle, the hair artist can remain on site between the time they finish through ceremony. Make sure your planner builds in time (apx 20-30 minutes) between ceremony and reception for the hair service. The rate is calculated on an hourly rate.
-
We do not recommend it but here are the options for changing locations:
Pay for Extra Time at the Venue: This option allows you to have everyone get ready at the venue by extending the time you have access to it.
Additional Artists: Add artists with an additional fee, depending on availability.
Get Ready Off-Site with Artist for Touch-Ups: You can have everyone get ready off-site and, for an additional fee, have an artist accompany you to the venue for touch-ups and photos if desired.
Getting Ready in Two Locations: This involves splitting the getting ready process between two locations. This is the least optimal choice. Please note that this will add an hour's time and an additional fee for each artist, plus travel fees for all artists from the additional location.
-
Sure! For 2 brides we will want to know the following:
Do you both desire to get ready in the same space on wedding day? Most often we see couples set hair up in one room and makeup in the other.
We will also need to know if you would like to have your preview done at the same time or at separate appointments.
For males, we are happy to accommodate the women in your party getting hair and makeup done.
PREVIEWS
-
Yes, you will have the same artists. Pending unforeseen circumstances we can make adjustments if necessary.
-
We allow for an hour and a half with your artists to complete the look.
-
We recommend that you do not use your trial for your bridal portraits. Your trial is a preview of what’s to come from that first meeting. It’s important to work out your look before taking pictures. Brides like to make a few small changes between preview and bridal portrait day or the wedding.
-
We do not recommend that you combine these appointments as typically the hair and make up look for the engagement is different than the wedding day.
-
For Makeup: Come with a fresh face. No moisturizer or SPF, our artists will know how to best prep your skin so your makeup holds. If you are wearing makeup, they will clean your face.
For Hair: Come with clean or day-old, dry hair. While it is damp and before you blow dry add a light styling product like a foam or cream for hold. *We recommend blowing out your hair the day before receiving your curated style unless you have curly hair and you are wearing a curly style. We provide blowouts both in our studio and on-location, so you can schedule one before meeting with your bridal team if you prefer. Contact us to book.
We will also provide you a portal to drop your inspiration photos to your file once you are a Brite Bride. Also, have your inspo pics ready for your artists. Really think about what you like about the pictures and how you want that represented on yourself. Oh, and don't forget to show your artist the dress! We love to see it and knowing what it looks like allows us to create a cohesive look.
Another helpful tip: bring pictures of yourself when you feel your best. We want to see what makes you, YOU! This whole process is about finding out how to make you look and feel your best for the big day!
-
We recommend having your trial done around 6 weeks before the wedding. If you do it more than about 4 months in advance, you will need to schedule another one closer to the wedding day to revisit your look with the artists.
-
Only one hair and one makeup look. If you would like to book additional appointments to sample multiple styles, please contact our scheduling coordinator.
HAIR AND MAKEUP
-
No problem! We can provide a natural look for you. Note that there is a difference between neutral glam and minimal makeup. The goal is to make all our brides feel great in person while making sure that they have enough makeup to last the day and night as well as show up in photographs. For those who want their freckles to show, we can provide sheer coverage to make sure your personality shows through!
-
Yes, of course! We're here for it! Many brides opt for a soft glam, so that is often pictured on our website and instagram, but we love a full glam moment! We're here to make you look and feel your finest!
-
The benefit of airbrush is that it is long-wearing and provides a photo-finish. It's particularly great for oily and normal skin. If you're interested in all night wearability, try it during your preview! We recommend it for many of our brides and it's no biggie if it's not a fit for you. We can remove add-ons from the invoice.
-
The artists carry professional products and a wide variety of brands and items to accommodate various skin tones, textures, hair textures and preferences. If there is a specific product that you would like to use, you are welcome to have it on hand for us to use. If you or a bridal party member is allergic to cosmetic ingredient(s), please inform us of the specific allergy and we will do our best to accommodate.
-
Yes, Brite Beauty has a diverse staff that serves a beautifully diverse population.
-
Yes, lashes come with all makeup services. The artists stock a variety of lash types. If you prefer individual lashes for any service request, please let us know as that is an additional fee.
-
Depending on your needs, clip-in extensions can be essential to add volume and body.
-
Unless you have arranged to have a blowout in advance, please have your hair clean and dry. One day old hair is great for curated styling, but please do not arrive with dirty hair. Please note, if your or your wedding party's hair is wet, we will charge a blowout add on fee.
-
If you want to wear it in a curly style, the hair should be in its curly pattern, and a de-frizzing product should be applied beforehand.
And, for a smooth style, hair needs to be blown out before style.
ARTISTS
-
All of our artists have undergone a highly vigorous process to be vetted into our group and are trained as bridal specialists. Our website and socials reflect a variety of our artist work. When you hire Brite Beauty you are hiring a team who prides themselves on excellence, dependability, and quick and effective communication. It is our goal to not only make you look your best, but also feel your very best. If there is an artist, whom you’ve worked with in the past that you would like to request, you may do so for a fee if they are available.
-
We have both male and female artists on our team and they are all fabulous. Yes, we understand that sometimes due to circumstances like country club locker rooms, cultural beliefs, or preference that a male artist is not the most advantageous choice. If you prefer all females, please let us know and we will accommodate.
-
It depends on the number of services requested and the amount of time the bride has to get ready; once we have all the info we can provide an accurate quote.
SERVICE ADD-ONS
-
We apply a long hair add-on charge for those whose hair touches or extends past the middle of the back bra strap line.
-
We charge $30 for early morning fees when appointments start before 7:00 AM.
-
We do not schedule lashes only for a service but clients can ask one of the makeup artists on the wedding day to do this service. If there is time, the bridesmaid or client can add it on on the day.
Indivdual lashes are an add-on.
-
Yes, we charge $30 more for extension styling (this is for the styling only - not the actual extension cost.)
