Contouring and Highlighting Tips from BriteBeauty Pro’s

Intro: Our Chief Brite Maker, Marsi Hubbard, shared how she likes to contour and highlight. She is the first to admit that she loves to do her own makeup, but that she is not a professional makeup artist. So, Destiny, our Studio Manager, and Liza, Artistry Director, share their expert recommendations for achieving flawless contouring and highlighting.

Q&A with Marsi and BriteBeauty Pros:

Q: What’s the best way to start a contouring routine?

Marsi : "I like to keep my contouring routine simple but effective. I always start with the Tarte Sculpt Tape, which gives great definition to the face. I apply it under my cheekbones and along the jawline for that sculpted look. My go-to for a natural glow is the Brite Beauty Glow Stick. It's super easy to use and gives my skin that dewy finish without too much effort."

BriteBeauty Pros:

Liza: For optimal face sculpting, start by applying The Fenty Contour Stick in a neutral shade like Amber after your foundation. This contour stick effectively enhances facial definition. Follow it up with the Chanel Cream Bronzer to add warmth and further define the cheekbones for a perfectly sculpted look.

Destiny: For flawless contour and blush, use the Patrick Ta Blush and Contour Compacts. For best results, gradually apply small amounts with a brush rather than applying product directly to the face. This technique allows for better blending and a more natural finish.

Q: How do you find the right shades for contouring and highlighting?

Marsi: "I love using the Nars Multiple Cream Stick in Orgasm for contouring because it blends effortlessly and gives a natural finish. It’s important to choose a shade that’s slightly darker than your skin tone for contouring, and I personally prefer this one because of its creamy texture. To add some warmth and dimension, I use the Shape Tape Glow Bronzer, which blends perfectly with the contour."

BriteBeauty Pros:

Liza: My go-to highlighter is the OFRA Glazed Donut. For a radiant glow, apply a small amount to the tops of your cheekbones and down the bridge of your nose.

Destiny: For a stunning highlight, use the OFRA Rodeo Drive Highlighter on the high points of your face, focusing on the cheekbones and the bridge of your nose for a radiant finish.

Q: What blush and highlighter do you recommend to complete the look?

Marsi: "I love a good blush! My go-to is the MAC Blush in Love Joy. It gives a natural, warm flush to my cheeks, and I apply it lightly for a healthy glow. I like finishing my look with the Maybelline Master Contour Kit, which is great because it’s a 3-in-1 product—perfect for when you’re on the go!"

BriteBeauty Pros:

Destiny: Set your makeup using the corresponding powder from your palette to lock in the cream products. These palettes feature convenient cream and powder duos, making it easy to achieve a flawless finish.

Liza: Complete your look with the trendy Milani Red Cream Blush and finish off with a light dusting of translucent powder for a polished appearance.

Marsi: "Achieving the perfect contour and highlight is all about discovering the right products and techniques that suit your unique style. I hope my tips and favorite products encourage you to experiment with your makeup routine.
