How did you get started doing Hair and makeup?

“I started doing makeup actually when I was in school for art. I was getting my art degree, my bachelor's, and I was approached about doing makeup for exotic dancers, and I was like, 'I don't know. I don't know how to do that type of makeup.' But the person was like, 'You're an artist, you can figure it out.' And so I did! I jumped right in, and I worked in that industry for about 10 years. Then I switched gears and decided to get into bridal and special event makeup.

After that, I decided to get my cosmetology license so that I could add on hair services. And so, I've been doing bridal hair for about two years now. So cumulatively, I have about 19 years of experience in the beauty industry.”

What is your favorite thing about doing hair and makeup?

“I really like the end result. I love a full glam moment. That's my vibe. I love girls who want to just dive right in and have big hair, beautiful makeup. That's my favorite thing.”

What is a fun fact about you?

“In fact, I am a college professor, so I teach art history and art appreciation, and studio art classes that range from undergraduate to graduate.”

What is a product that you can’t live without your kit?

“Oh gosh, probably a really good setting spray! I love love love, Kryolan—it’s one of my go-tos, especially for event makeup. It really helps the makeup stay. So,my setting sprays are a must-have for me."
